Supporting us

Family life can be hard and challenging for many parents. Loneliness, relationship breakdown, bereavement, physical and mental illness or even multiple births can have a profound effect on families. With your help, Home-Start Milton Keynes can be there to help parents cope, to help them towards independence and a better future.

Home-Start Milton Keynes depends heavily on donations from companies, charitable trusts and people like you to fund our work with parents and children. Everyone needs help at some time in their life...so go on, help us to make a difference to a child's life today.

We need your help to make sure that we continue to be there for them and help them to give their children a better start in life.  See below for ways in which you can help us.

Donate as an employee

Whether you want to fundraise on your own or with your workmates and employer, there are lots of ways that you can help. Here are a few ideas:

• Payroll giving - a great way for you to support our work through donations taken directly from your salary - and it's tax free! Just ask your employer if they have a payroll giving scheme and then nominate Home-Start Milton Keynes as the charity you would like to support.
• Workplace fundraising - organise some fun events at work and get your colleagues involved. How about a Mad Hatter's Day where everyone pays to wear a mad hat and the best one wins a prize, a tea party or morning coffee break with cakes and biscuits for sale, sponsored events, quizzes or out of hours sports events? The possibilities are endless and remember to check if your employer does match funding and will double whatever you raise.

Win - corporate support helps Home-Start Milton Keynes reach out to more children and parents that are struggling to cope.

Win - companies become associated with the largest home-visiting family support charity in the UK that could be touching the lives of their employees.

Sponsorship

• Sponsor an event - we need £4,000 a year to run 4 events and outings each year. These may include a summer outing for families, a Christmas party, a family disco, a fun day and a volunteer celebration event. We also need treats for families, food hampers and items for raffles – please ring us for details and timing of the events. We have no storage space!
• Sponsor a family support group – it costs about £8,000 each year to run each of our family groups
• Sponsor a print run – it costs about £200 to print our Annual reports and newsletters in-house every year
• Sponsor a volunteer – it costs approximately £350 to train a volunteer to be able to support families who need help
• Sponsor a family - it costs approximately £1,250 for regular weekly support for one year.  What amazing value!
